Services Provided by our Athletic Trainers
Our Athletic Trainers provide a wide array of services including:
• Year-round high school athletic event and practice coverage
We provide practice and game coverage, allowing our ATC’s to focus on injury prevention and provide evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries.
• Pre Season Athletic Health Screening
Our sports medicine team offers athletic health screenings for athletes and coaches at our affiliate schools.
• Friday Night Injury Clinic
Our Friday Night Injury Clinic is staffed by a Sports Medicine Primary Care Physician. The clinic is open during football season from 9:30 p.m.—11:30 p.m. each Friday. It is located on the 4th floor of Hattiesburg Clinic’s Main Clinic at 415 South 28th Avenue, Hattiesburg. All athletes are welcome. No appointments are necessary. The initial physician charge is waived. All x-rays, supplies, procedures and follow-up visits are billed as customary.
• Education
Our certified athletic trainers not only deal with athletic injuries, but also educate student athletes, their parents and coaches in proper injury prevention and care.
• Functional return to play rehabilitation
Whether receiving treatment in one of our physical therapy clinics or training with certified athletic trainers, local student athletes receive comprehensive rehabilitation services. Our goal is to return the athlete to pre-injury status while maintaining current strength and cardio-respiratory conditioning.
• CPR certification for coaches
Our staff of certified athletic trainers includes CPR instructors. They can provide CPR recertification for local area coaches.
